Car critics aren’t the most empathic types, and vehicles that don’t drop into their precise areas of obsession (flashy, posh, or powerful) tend to be met with a collective “meh.” Thus the Volkswagen Routan, a decent if uninspiring minivan is clocking a woeful 66 among published critics.
