Chevy’s Crossover Makeover

Chevrolet’s heretofore underwhelming Equinox crossover just underwent a significant makeover, and the spiffy new version seems to be hit. Thus far, the 2010 Equinox is averaging a very nifty 84 in published reviews, which is more than 10 points higher than the earlier models.

2010 Camaro Averaging an 87

The press embargo lifted on Friday, releasing a flood of reviews of the long-awaited 2010 Chevrolet Camaro. How’s it doing? Pretty darn good: the Camaro is currently averaging a score of 87 from the country’s car critics, just edging out that other iconic muscle car, the Ford Mustang. TheTruthAboutCars.com just did a survey of three bargain-priced mid-sized American sedans, which, given the economy, has some timely import to it. Their verdict is not so pretty for Ford and Chrysler. The 2009 Ford Fusion? Hated it. Chrysler Sebring? Ditto. In fact, TTAC went thumbs-down on everything except the Chevy Malibu LS. See, there is a sunny upside to the current economic climes. Consumer Reports reports that car shoppers can nab some pretty nice rides, like the Chevy Silverado, for as much as a 25% discount. Better, some actually stellar vehicles, like the Acura MDX, are selling at a 20% discount. Check the best values here. Where to start? How about the steering wheel, your most important point of contact with the ZR1? It’s a big, ugly, rubbery piece of junk…

The offender is the Corvette ZR-1, which is actually pretty beloved by critics.
