Subaru’s Legacy sedan has long been a quirky also-ran in a class dominated by Camrys and Accords. It has fans who appreciate its all-wheel drive, but it has never won widespread popularity with critics or consumers. However Subaru has rebooted it for 2010 offering 3 very different powertrains, and the redesigned model is scoring an 85 on Motormouths, nine points higher than the previous version.
Phil Floraday of Automobile sums it up…
Bigger, faster, more fuel efficient. These words aren’t paired together very often, but they perfectly summarize the 2010 Subaru Legacy sedan.
Subaru is the rare automaker posting sales gains this year. Only time will tell if the new Legacy can improve its numbers as dramatically as its Motormouths score.
